Licensed Addiction Counselor

I have learned throughout life some people are placed in situations without the power to choose and some choose situations because they lack skills and knowledge of the effects of their decisions.  Many individuals practice learned behaviors and the cycle continues for generations.  Change is sometimes difficult to see with closed eyes.  If you have been struggling with emotional, mental or even physical difficulties and want your life to change, now is the time to seek that change.  Counseling can be the change you need to improve situations that hinder your progress.

I would like to help you walk through the doors of change.  My hope is to inspire you to dig deep inside and explore the barriers that hinder your progress.  I want to give you hope through support, acceptance and genuineness, to be the personal you desire to be.  I have worked with people from all walks of life and each person carried their own baggage but letting go requires the same process for everyone: work.  I specialize in working with adolescents and adults with behavioral and substance abuse issues and children with behavioral issues seeking help to improve their lives.

Mental health and substance abuse is sometimes hard to deal with and debilitating for some.  You don’t have to walk through this alone.

Anything worth having is worth working for.

Change can come when you put in the work to make it happen. I want to build a therapeutic relationship with you so that we can make the changes together, see the progress and celebrate the breakthroughs.  Seeking help through counseling is not an easy decision, but making the decision is the best thing you can do.  Not all stories have beginnings that were good, but the end can be what you want it to be.

about me

I was born and raised in Natchitoches.  I have seen the effects of mental health and substance abuse rage through our neighborhoods and destroy families.  As I began to see the effects on people I loved and had known all my life, I wanted to be the helper and change people’s lives for the better.  I watched my mother and father be helpers and caring for people and it was instilled in me.  As an adult I never lost sight of being a helper and doing good by people.

I started college with my heart set on being a psychiatric nurse, but it was not my calling.  As I embarked upon counseling, after being a support for so many people, I found my niche.  Counseling, it gave me the air I needed to breathe good things into other people to bring about change.  I want to offer you a service that will provide you with an environment where you can feel safe, secure, and work to explore new ways of thinking and feeling that will  enhance your life and help leave the hurt behind.  Positive ways and better days are coming!
