Ready to Better Understand When Trauma Speaks Through the Body?
Join us for an engaging 3-hour clinical training, When the Body Speaks First: Understanding Somatic Symptoms, Trauma, and Nervous System Dysregulation, presented by Elizabeth Beebe, LPC-S. Designed specifically for mental health professionals, this training will strengthen your ability to recognize how trauma, anxiety, and chronic stress often present through physical symptoms while improving your confidence in assessment, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning.
Many clients arrive in therapy describing chronic pain, gastrointestinal issues, fatigue, headaches, dizziness, or other physical complaints without a clear medical explanation. Others struggle with panic symptoms, sensory overwhelm, or nervous system dysregulation that can easily be misunderstood. This training explores the powerful connection between the brain, body, and nervous system while providing practical tools to help clinicians recognize when the body is communicating what words cannot.
Through interactive discussion, case studies, and practical clinical application, you’ll leave with evidence-based strategies you can immediately integrate into your work with clients.
Why Attend This Training?
Physical symptoms are often the body’s way of communicating unresolved trauma and chronic stress.
Without a strong understanding of somatic symptoms and nervous system dysregulation, clinicians may overlook important clinical information, misunderstand client presentations, or struggle to differentiate trauma-related symptoms from medical or psychological disorders.
Whether you work in private practice, healthcare, schools, or community mental health, this training will help you strengthen your diagnostic lens while learning practical, body-based interventions that support healing and improve treatment outcomes.
