Toree Chamberlain

Counseling intern

Thoughts and feelings can be a scary thing, especially when you don’t know how to express them. Children and teens often have big emotions they don’t know how to manage or express. These emotions sometimes are displayed in anger outbursts, social withdrawal, an increase in stress, or a decrease in school performance or self-esteem. Navigating through these thoughts and behaviors can be challenging for both the child and the parent.

I can help support your child in understanding and expressing these thoughts and feelings, as well as teach healthy coping strategies to help manage these thoughts. I aspire to build a genuine relationship with my clients as well as a safe, warm counseling environment to help meet your counseling goals!

about me

I thought I wanted to be a Veterinarian growing up, until I took my first psychology class, and I fell in love with the realm of psychology. I knew I wanted to work with children and teens dealing with low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and past trauma, but it wasn’t until I worked as an ABA therapist that I realized my love for working with children and teens with behavioral and developmental disorders (such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Intermittent Explosive Disorder, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder).

Outside of school and work, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and dogs, reading, and serving at church in the music and media ministries.
